The correct ruling is you wash the clothes with dirt the first time and wash it with water 7 times afterwards, because scientifically the dogs tong has worms which is extremely impure that's why it is required for it to be washed 7 times after using mud.The scholars say this method is mandatory if a dog has licked something for use.
