hello everybody.... does anyone know....in which sunna or iyat of the koran does it say that our prophet cursed women who trimmed their eyebrows....as i have always been told that he never cursed and did not like anyone to do so in his presence.....be safe....sashaahmed. |

The Qur'an does not explicitly forbid trimming of the eyebrows, however many scholars believe that plucking and shaping the eyebrows for beauty is a form of changing the creation of Allah, as referred to in the following ayah:
This is substantiated by the following hadith, in which Abdullah curses women who pluck their facial hair (i.e., the eyebrows) and claims the prophet did the same:
I know of nothing which prohibits or even discourages trimming the eyebrows, that is to say shortening the hairs of the eyebrow without actually removing them. Since trimming the hair of the head and trimming the mustache (for men) is not considered to be changing the creation of Allah — rather it is a form of beautification that was practiced by the prophet himself — I contend that trimming the eyebrows too would be acceptable. |
