Ibn Abbas (May Allah be pleased with them) said: The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) used to say when he was in distress: "La ilaha illallahul-Azimul-Halim. La ilaha illallahu Rabbul-Arshil-Azim. La ilaha illallahu Rabbus-samawati, wa Rabbul-ardi, wa Rabbul-Arshil-Karim. (None has the right to be worshipped but Allah the Incomparably Great, the Compassionate. None has the right to be worshipped but Allah the Rubb of the Mighty Throne. None has the right to be worshipped but Allah the Rubb of the heavens, the Rubb of the earth, and the Rubb of the Honourable Throne).'' [Al-Bukhari and Muslim].

The only medicine in a time of distress is the remembrance of Allah Whose Help alone should be sought. This Du`a contains words which glorify Allah and exalt Him far above all else. It is desirable to recite these words when one is in distress as this is exactly what the Prophet (PBUH) used to recite in such situations

Noble Quran. 2:275

Those who consume interest cannot stand [on the Day of Resurrection] except as one stands who is being beaten by Satan into insanity. That is because they say, "Trade is [just] like interest." But Allah has permitted trade and has forbidden interest. So whoever has received an admonition from his Lord and desists may have what is past, and his affair rests with Allah . But whoever returns to [dealing in interest or usury] - those are the companions of the Fire; they will abide eternally therein.

Noble Quran 2:276

Allah destroys interest and gives increase for charities. And Allah does not like every sinning disbeliever.

Noble Quran 2:277

Indeed, those who believe and do righteous deeds and establish prayer and give zakah will have their reward with their Lord, and there will be no fear concerning them, nor will they grieve.

Noble Quran 2:278

O you who have believed, fear Allah and give up what remains [due to you] of interest, if you should be believers.

Noble Quran 2:279

And if you do not, then be informed of a war [against you] from Allah and His Messenger. But if you repent, you may have your principal - [thus] you do no wrong, nor are you wronged.

The Prophet S.A.W said, "The selling of wheat for wheat is Riba (usury) except if it is handed from hand to hand and equal in amount. Similarly the selling of barley for barley, is Riba except if it is from hand to hand and equal in amount, and dates for dates is usury except if it is from hand to hand and equal in amount.

The last Verse (in the Quran) revealed to the Prophet S.A.W was the Verse dealing with usury (i.e. Riba).

hi nizar salaam ale kum. i think it depends on which country u are working if it is a islamic country than may be it is haraam. but in india i have seen muslims working in banks which genrealy runs on intrest money which is haraam but people say india is not a islamic country toh chalta hai. but allah is rabbul alamin he knows best
