I have seen many of the people uses SAW as short form of Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam. This abbreviation SAW is used everytime as Prophet Muhammad name. Searching the truth I got that It is not better to abbreviate Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam as SAW. Below is the complete detail.... |

No...., It should not be abbreviated. Most of the people are either lazy or busy. So they uses the short form SAW instead of writing the full name. It should not be done like that as "The Sunnah is to write the entire phrase "sallallaahu 'alayhe wa sallam," since it is a kind of supplication, and supplication is worship, (in one's writing) just as it is in one's speech. |
