Famous Muslim statesmanwas born in 1138.He was a Kurd of Armenia.His father Ayyub was a general in Zengi's army, Who was the rular of Mousul and was campaigning against crusaders.Ayub was made govrnor of damascus Salahuddin was educated there.
Salahuddin went to Egypt accompanying Shirguh as his lieutenant,in 1164.
ON shirguh's death he was made viezir(minister) in his place.In 1171 Salahuddin put all powers in his own hands.In1175 he was recognised as Sultan(king) of Egypt by the Caliphat of Baghdad.Upto 1186 Salahuddin had consolidated his powers inSyria,Iraq etc.From 1187 the Sultan embarked upon the destruction of the Christian kingdom in Palestine,Lebnon etc.t was following the revocation of the truce by the Christians.He conquered Palestine and entered Bait-ul-Muqaddas on Oct. 2,1187.
On Sep.2,1192, After a long period of belligerence,a truce was achieved and only the coastline was left to the Christians.Salahuddin returned to damascus and died on March4,1193.
